Dragoons continue to freely create music that replicates their live performance and energy. All band members add to the creation of the music and the band tend to avoid overthinking the process of recording and creating music stating, ‘there is nothing special about what we do’. The band is happy releasing music that indicates exactly where they are at as a band. Their new EP ‘Baron Dill and the Dragoon Lagoon’ has some of their most interesting musical passages to date. The band reached out to Calum Newton of ‘Lunatics on Pogosticks’ to record, mix and master the album; and the cohesion of the DIY home setup and Calum’s knowledge formed a perfect mix. Our friends just released their first album, they have also previously played live at the IME hq. Besides the album being great, they're probably the funniest guys we know. Dragoons are an alternative rock band from Melbourne. The band found a cohesion through jamming in mid 2016, and became and outfit from there on. The bands style is typified by repetitive and simple instrumentals with shrieking fuzz leads. They draw inspiration from Frank Zappa, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Pond and more.

'Early Work' is a collection of tracks written over a 6 month period, which explores various genres. The album was recorded live in a band members bedroom over one day. The band wanted to translate their live energy into the recordings, and it has surfaced. Long winding solos, washed out vocals and spontaneous jams run throughout the 9 tracks, giving listeners an array of different sounds. They are launching the EP at the Tote bandroom on the 4th of June
